Giving Thanks for the Giver of Gifts: God Transcendent

Nov 14, 2018

Scripture to meditate on: Isaiah 55:8-9; Isaiah 40:22; Psalm 97:9; Hebrews 1:3

As we have spent the last week and a half meditating on the attributes of God as He reveals Himself in Scripture, we have come to realize that this God is a God who is transcendent. He is unlike His creation. He exists above and independent of His creation. He is infinitely higher in His being and in all His actions.

And yet this transcendent God condescends to His creation and reveals Himself to them through the pages of Scripture. The transcendent God stepped down into creation in the person of Jesus Christ and made His dwelling among us. This transcendent God reached across the great divide caused by our sin and rebellion to become the sacrifice and pay the penalty for our rebellion, thus revealing yet again just how infinitely transcendent He truly us!

As we meditate today on our transcendent God, let your heart be filled with worship and thanksgiving for who He is and for what He has done to save the lost!
