Giving Thanks: God IS the Gift!

Nov 30, 2018

Meditation: Psalm 16:5-6; Psalm 34:8; Psalm 63:1-8

God is truly incomprehensible. He is beyond our understanding.  We have spent the entire month looking at Him, meditating on Him and worshiping Him. We have caught glimpses of His beauty. We have been captivated by His goodness, amazed at His righteousness, humbled by His mercy, and thankful for His faithfulness. Yet we have only begun to scratch the surface! There is more to know, more to see, more to understand. We can comprehend Him in part but we cannot wholly comprehend Him. But the glimpses we get, oh, they make us hunger for more! We taste and see that the LORD is good and we keep coming back to taste more. And when we do, He is eager and pleased to satisfy our hunger. He is eager and pleased to show Himself to us. Because, you see, dear friends, each and every time you taste and see the goodness of God, you begin to realize that God is not the giver of the gifts - God is Himself the greatest gift of all. There is nothing or no one else that will satisfy us.

So keep tasting. Keep seeking to satisfy your hunger in the presence of the LORD. “The LORD is our chosen portion and our cup; He holds our lot. The lines have fallen for us in pleasant places; indeed, we have a beautiful inheritance” for HE is our inheritance. Thanks be to God - our chosen portion!
