Meditation: 2 Chronicles 7:1-3; Isiah 6:1-4; Isaiah 42:8; Ezekiel 43:15; Hebrews 1:1-4
God - our God - the Only God - is infinitely glorious. He doesn’t hide His glory from us; rather, He displays His greatness and worth for us to see. And He will share His glory with no other. The heavens explode with it. The earth is filled with it. Word upon word, line upon line, and page upon page of His written Word declares to us: “Yahweh is Glorious!” And then Jesus, the very glory of God in the flesh, appears. Jesus isn’t just another human prophet sent to tell us ABOUT God and His glory. He is God Himself in the flesh, showing us His glory. In every word He speaks, in every person He touches, every miracle He performed, and especially as He hung dying on the cross, Jesus is the very glory of God! “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature.”
There is none more glorious than our God. There is none like Him. And we are overwhelmed by Him. The more we see His glory, the more we are overwhelmed by Him and our desire will be for Him.
Give thanks today for our infinitely glorious God. May our prayer be like the prayer of Moses as we delight in His Word - “Show me your glory!”
