Meditation: Job 28:12-28; Proverbs 2:1-15; Romans 11:33-36
God is wise. He is infinitely, consistently, perfectly, unchangingly wise. He knows what is best and He always acts accordingly. He cannot choose wrongly. When we think of the unfathomable wisdom and knowledge of God, we realize how limited and finite we are! We are limited in our knowledge, we are limited in understanding, we are limited in perspective. And yet we have a God who is unlimited in all these things and His plans and His ways (although often now our plans and our ways) can be trusted to be right and good.
Our infinitely wise God is so kind and good. He recognizes our lack of wisdom and invites us to come to Him for wisdom. “For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding” (Prov. 2:6); so, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” (James 1:5)
So as we give thanks to this Infinitely wise God who invites and offers to us His wisdom, let us also trust that His wisdom is best and submit to where we find ourselves this day and along with the Psalmist say: “this is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it”.
