Today we will be thankful that we worship the God who holds all power. All Scripture recounts story after story of the power of God but spend some time meditating on God’s power by reading Genesis 1 & 2.
The fact that God is all powerful means that “God is able to do all that He desires to do. When He plans something, it will come to be. If He purposes something, it will happen. Nothing can prevent His plan. When His hand is stretched out to do something, no one can turn it back.” (Ron Moore)
The All-Powerful, All-Knowing, Infinitely Holy God is the God that uses that power to redeem a people from their sins! The All-Powerful God who formed humankind out of the dust of the ground and breathed life into their lungs, is the same All-Powerful God who forms a New Creation and breathes His breath into the lungs of the spiritually dead. There is nothing too hard for God! And for His chosen redeemed people, God is using His power to work all things for their good and His glory!
Do you ever feel powerless? Do the circumstances of your life frustrate you because the powers that be are unjust and selfish? Do you struggle to try to control your circumstances and feel frustrated because it seems that everything is outside of your control and you have no power to change anything? Look to the One who holds all power in His hands. Every power structure that we live under is under His authority. Every circumstance is under His authority. Shelter yourself under His mighty hand knowing that He is good. He cares for you. He is working all things for your good. Give thanks to God for He is immeasurably able to do more than we ask or imagine. (Eph. 3:20)
